CRAPAUD, P.E.I. — Evan Nicholson had three goals and two assists to lead the Eastern Express to an 8-2 victory over the Mid-Isle Matrix Sunday in P.E.I. Major Under-15 AAA Hockey League action.
Matthew MacLean had a goal and two assists while Ryan Dwyer had a goal and a helper in the road win at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud.
Ross Campbell, Cayle Coffin and Alexander Keus rounded out the scoring for Eastern, which held 2-1 and 4-2 period leads. Dawson Sharkey had two assists while Drew MacDonald, Carson MacKenzie, Mason Power and Austin Walker each contributed one.
Noah Wolfe had a goal and an assist for the Matrix while Michael Arsenault also scored.
Jackson MacDonald stopped 13 shots for the win while Landon MacKinnon was peppered with 56 shots in the Mid-Isle crease.
Eastern went 5-for-11 on the power play while Mid-Isle was 1-for-7.
The league-leading Express improved to 16-0-1 while the third-place Matrix are 4-14-0.
