Murphy sparks Wildcats’ offence

CORNWALL – Lexie Murphy and Hannah LeClair sparked the Mid-Isle Wildcats to victory in their P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League home opener.
Murphy scored two goals and assisted on two others for a four-point night while LeClair recorded the shutout in the Wildcats’ 7-0 decision over the Central Storm at the APM Centre on Friday.
Makayla Larsen (2), Carla Stewart (1-2), Madeline Hamill and Kennedy Francis also scored for the Wildcats, who built period advantages of 3-0 and 5-0.
Maggie Linkletter (2), Charlotte Linkletter (2) and Claire Pickens also contributed assists.
