CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Zayley Murphy and Justice Grant are the Holland College Hurricanes athletes of the week.
Murphy, a second-year player from Conception Bay South, N.L., contributed to the Hurricanes women’s volleyball team’s win over previously undefeated Mount Allison Mounties in four sets on Dec. 3.
Murphy, a tourism and travel management student, racked up a match-high 12 kills, leading Holland College to victory. The ’Canes improved to 8-0 to lead the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) entering the holiday break.
Grant, a first-year player from Toronto, was recently selected as the Atlantic Football League rookie of the year and the defensive back made the all-star team. He is in the sport and leisure management program.
