Frederick Morency is enjoying a busy Grade 10 year at Evangeline School.

The 15-year-old son of Eric and Dominique Morency of Mont-Carmel is competing in three P.E.I. School Athletic Association (PEISAA) sports. This commitment was a big contributor in Frederick being selected his school’s Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete of the month.
“Frederick is an extremely multi-talented athlete,” said Evangeline School athletic director Jason Arsenault. “His endurance and overall conditioning are impressive. It doesn’t matter if he’s playing soccer, cross-country, track, badminton or hockey, it’s 100-per-cent effort.”
In the fall, Frederick represented the Coyotes in cross-country. He also competed in singles and doubles badminton events, and he will run in the 800 metres in track and field in the spring.

Hockey and soccer
Outside of school, Frederick played centre with the Evangeline Flyers’ midget AA team during the 2018-19 hockey season. He also played summer soccer with the Summerside United under-16 First Division team in 2018.
“Frederick is very respectful, very coachable and an asset to any team or individual sport,” added Arsenault. “He can think under pressure and make good decisions.”
Frederick hopes to continue furthering his education at university after graduating from high school.
