CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride played the Moncton Flyers tough, but settled for a 3-1 defeat in N.B.-P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League action Sunday in Moncton.

Thanks to Yannick Bastarache and Cole Cormier, Moncton took a 2-0 lead in to the third period, but the Pride’s Sam MacNeill, from Ed McNeil, closed that gap to 2-1 seven minutes into the final frame.

Eleven minutes later Moncton’s Alexis Dube added the insurance goal and dashed Charlottetown’s hopes for a comeback win.

Pride goalie Erik MacInnis saw 53 shots, including 21 attempts in the third frame, in the loss, while Moncton’s Jacob Leblanc kicked aside 15-of-16 shots for the win.

Charlottetown was 1-for-3 on the power play. Moncton went 1-for-7 with the extra man.
