POWNAL, P.E.I. — The Mid-Isle Matrix scored two goals in the final 35 seconds Monday to defeat the Pownal Red Devils in Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Landon Hardy’s second of the night came at 19:25 while Reese Wyand scored the winner with five seconds showing on the clock at the Pownal Sports Centre. Joe MacEachern and Carson MacKay each had two assists in the victory while Wyand and Aaron McCloskey each tallied one.
Will MacDougall and Carson Lund replied for Pownal. Jack Triantafflou had two assists while Sam Worth and Sam Parsons each added one.
Ty Arsenault recorded the win while Caleb Drake took the loss. Pownal led 2-1 heading to the third after a scoreless first period.
Mid-Isle improved to 3-2-0 while Pownal is 2-2-0.
