CHICOUTIMI, QUE. – Summerside’s Jeremy McKenna had a goal and an assists Tuesday as the Moncton Wildcats doubled the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 8-4 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
The host Sagueneens held a 2-1 lead after the first period, but the Wildcats scored five second period goals to take a 6-2 lead to the third.
McKenna, 19, has 18 goals and 26 assists for 44 points in 25 games. Before Wednesday’s games, McKenna was second in the league in points behind Rouyn-Noranda’s Peter Abbandonato, who had 45, and second in goals behind Baie-Comeau’s Ivan Chekhovich, who had 19.
Meanwhile the Wildcats (19-4-2-0) held a two-point over Rouyn-Noranda for top spot in the league standings.
