SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Mantario turned in one of the biggest performances of Governor’s Plate night and will try to replicate that magic Sunday at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.

The 12-dash card kicks off at 1 p.m.
Mantario is pegged for the top spot in the $2,600 finale. Alex Sobey will drive his own trainee in the absence of regular driver Kenny Arsenault, who will be competing in stakes’ action in Nova Scotia.
Owned by Walter Simmons of Summerside, Mantario was a winner in 1:54.3 in his latest start but will have to overcome Post 7 to find the winner’s circle Sunday. Woodmere Ideal Art was second to him in that latest race and will retain the services of Norris Rogers from Post 6.
Post 1 belongs to Red Magician with Adam Merner at the lines for trainer Melissa Rennie. Red Magician is fresh off a third-place finish to Mantario on ‘Plate Night.’
Also in the field is Twice As Bright (driven by Ken Murphy), Mando Fun (Corey MacPherson), Pictonian Storm (Myles Heffernan Sr.), Midnight Matt (Jason Hughes) and City Of The Year (Dr. Mitchell Downey).

Two-race win streak
Medici Hanover rides a two-race win streak into Race 8 for an $1,800 purse and gets the good fortune of drawing Post 1. The co-track record holder for three-year-old pacing fillies at Summerside Raceway, Medici Hanover is trained by Don Milligan for owners Kent Williams of Ellerslie, Andrew Williams of Richmond and Lyndon Hardy of Coleman.
The back-up pace hits the track in Race 10 with $2,300 in purse money at stake. Morning-line favourite Dangle Ona Dime has an impressive array of five straight top-two finishes coming into the event and draws Post 2 for driver MacPherson and trainer Duane MacEachern. Other top entries include Union Man Hanover (Downey) and Brandons Glory (John Davidson).
Red Shores, Standardbred Canada, and the Prince County Horsemen’s Club is proud to support National Caretakers Day on the program with special videos, prize giveaways and presentations.
Standardbred groom Jansen Sweet will be the special guest on the Inside Track with host Rocky Schurman on Sunday at 12:35 p.m. The interview segment will be broadcast on the Red Shores TV network.
