CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Former Charlottetown Islanders goalie Blade Mann-Dixon made 26 saves to backstop the St. FX X-Men to a 4-2 victory over the UPEI Panther Saturday in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) men’s hockey action.
It included stopping Nathan Yetman on a first period penalty shot at MacLauchlan Arena.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first period and Troy Lajeunesse gave the home side the lead about nine minutes into the second period.
But Bryson Cianfrone and Regan Spears scored 14 seconds apart to give the visitors a 3-2 lead heading to the third. Matthew Graham and Jeremiah Addison rounded out the scoring for the visitors.
Conor MacEachern had the Panthers first goal while Simon Hofley took the loss in the Panthers crease.
St. FX improved to 10-11-3, four points up on UPEI (8-12-3) for fifth place in the conference standings.
The Panthers host Acadia Friday and Saint Mary’s Saturday during alumni weekend. Both games start at 7 p.m.
