The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals maintained their spot in this week’s Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings.

The second-ranked Caps trail only the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta league. Summerside (39-6-1-2) went 1-0-1-0 in their two games last week and has clinched first place in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. They host the Grand Falls Rapids on Thursday with captain Brodie MacArthur getting a chance to break the league’s career scoring record. He is currently tied with Duane Saulnier with 352 points.

The Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League was a big jumper this week, moving from eight to four. The Okotoks Oilers from Alberta moved from fourth to third while the Coquitlam Express from British Columbia dropped from three to five.

Edmundston (31-9-1-7) was again named an honourable mention on the national rankings.
