CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Holland Hurricanes will host the Mount Allison Mounties in a first-place showdown featuring undefeated teams in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball action Tuesday.

The Hurricanes, who have won their first seven matches, take on the Mounties (6-0) at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement in Charlottetown. The opening serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Mounties enter the match at No. 12 in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national rankings.

This match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was rescheduled due to the poor weather conditions.

Hurricanes sweep Mystics

The Hurricanes’ latest victory was a straight-set decision over the Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) Mystics Charlottetown on Sunday. Scores were 25-17, 25-9, 25-22.

Abby Hyndman and Sam Gerbig had eight kills each to lead the Hurricanes while Zayley Murphy and Kateia Barenaba each added three.

Marissa Macaulay had a match-high 19 assists along with four service aces and three digs. Dana Trainor led the Hurricanes’ defensive effort with a match-high 13 digs. Hyndman added eight digs and Murphy had five aces in the win.

The loss dropped the third-place Mystics to 6-2.
