CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Volleyball players Dana Trainor and Alex Joudrey are the Holland College Hurricanes athletes of the week.
Trainor helped the women’s team complete an undefeated regular season with two weekend victories as Holland College improved to 18-0 to earn the No. 1 seed for this weekend’s Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) playoffs in Sackville, N.B.
The ’Canes defeated the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics 3-0 Saturday and the University of King’s College Blue Devils 3-0 with both matches happening in Halifax.
Trainor, a fifth-year libero from Charlottetown in the dental assisting program, had a combined 30 digs and five assists during the weekend.
Joudrey, a first-year ’Canes libero from New Germany, N.S., helped the ‘Canes defeat the top-ranked St. Thomas Tommies 3-2 Saturday in Charlottetown.
Joudrey, who is taking business administration at Holland College, had 15 digs, one assist and one kill.
