ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Karrington Ward had 26 points and nine rebounds as the St. John’s Edge edged the Island Storm 109-106 Sunday in National Basketball League of Canada action.
Cane Broome added 19 points off the bench in the win in St. John’s, N.L., while Montay Brandon chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Robbie Robinson led the Storm with 25 points and 17 rebounds while Antwon Lillard scored 24 points off the bench and Johnathan Loyd had 17 points and five assists. Jailan Haslem had 13 points and nine rebounds.
The Edge held quarter leads of 32-22, 54-53 and 81-73.
St. John’s improved to 11-7 while the Storm dropped its fourth straight game to fall to 6-14. The Storm will look to start the skid Saturday when it hosts the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans (6-13).
