Sherwood Metros blast Georgetown Eagles in junior C action

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Michael Jenkins had three goals and an assist to lead the Sherwood Metros to a 9-4 victory over the Georgetown Eagles Monday in Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action.

Sam Valois (2-1) and Marc Cummiskey (0-3) added three-point nights for the host squad at Cody Banks Arena. Matt McAulay had two goals while Jake Lafferty and Cameron Callaghan rounded out the scoring.

Alex MacEachern and Sammy Doherty both had two assists while singles went to Riley Watts, Cody Keoughan, Brian Leslie, Ridge Crane and Hunter Boudreau.

Jonathan Gormley had two goals and an assist to pace the Eagles while Cam White had a goal and assist. Derian Johnson had the other goal while Cole Mosher and Dasan Knockwood each chipped in one assist.

Keenan Hayden made 35 saves for the victory. Brandon Barrett allowed five goals on 31 shots in 30 minutes for the Eagles while Jeremie Godin allowed four goals on 34 shots.

The Metros, who held 3-1 and 6-3 period leads, improved to 1-1-0 while the Eagles are 0-1-0.
