CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Rose Run Quest will look to use rail control to his advantage on Harness The Hope night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday.

Red Shores and Standardbred Canada will also salute the grooms as part of National Caretaker’s Appreciation weekend.

The 12-dash Saturday card has a 6 p.m. post time, with Rose Run Quest the morning-line favourite in Race 11 of the program. The Harness The Hope program will feature cooler presentations following every race, along with a chance for on track customers to purchase a key for a chance to win fabulous prizes for the online event taking place on Sunday beginning at 7 p.m.

The evening will also feature the Bouncy Pony Stakes with 2019 champion Steven Shepherd back to defend his title. The race by drivers on the inflatable bouncy ponies will take place after Race 5.

Rose Run Quest has scored a pair of second-place finishes since moving into the Gilles Barrieau stable, but will draw clear of Time To Dance in this week’s $3,150 preferred pace as he looks to find the wire first. Owned by Blair Hansen of Charlottetown, Rose Run Quest boasts 46 lifetime wins. His stablemate in the dash is the richest Maritime-bred of all-time, The Rev, from Post 3. Dale Spence will pick up the catch-drive behind the $612,000 winner.

Lisburn has the far outside in the field of seven for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault.

Peter MacPhee of Post Time Picks likes the chances of Rose Run Quest to get it all.

“Rose Run Quest was sent to the point last time and was just collared at the wire by Time To Dance,” said MacPhee. “We think the game plan will be the same this week, only this time he may go all the way.”

Other entries in the preferred field are Woodmere Ideal Art (To be driven by Brodie MacPhee), Simple Kinda Man (Jason Hughes), Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) and Freddy Bear (Adam Merner).

Silver Beast in favoured in the Race 7 The Gray Group Real Estate Development Pace with Spence driving the MacKenzie MacInnis-trainee from Post 3 in the $2,500 event. The four-year-old son of Betterthancheddar was a winner his last two starts with his latest in 1:54.4. Other top entries are Three Truths (MacPhee) from Post 6 and Jordies Hope (Barrieau) taking on the boys from Post 5.
