Ronahan earns silver at CCAA badminton tournament

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown’s Jack Ronahan recently earned a silver medal at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) badminton championships in Toronto.

Ronahan teamed with Bryce Mason to capture silver at the event. They are both students at the University of King’s College in Halifax.

The team went 4-1 in group play, defeated Nicolas Pittman/Braxton Wong 2-1 (10-21, 21-11, 21-18) in the semifinal before losing to Saatuik Mahajan/Faizan Shaikh 2-1 (21-17, 21-18, 21-11) in the final.

Ronahan was the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association rookie of the year this season.
