KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — The A&S Scrap Metal Metros took sole possession of second place in the Island Junior Hockey League Friday with a 3-1 win over the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers.

The Metros (13-11-2) lead the Vipers (13-10-0) by two points but have played three more games.

Kensington led 1-0 after the first period Friday but trailed 2-1 heading to the third.

Teddy Robins scored the winner with 24 seconds remaining in the middle stanza in Kensington. Shaul Mitton and Barrington Duffy also scored in the win. Ryan Boswall, Nick Steele and Jason Poley each had an assist for the Metros.

Duncan Picketts from Tayler Read and Dixon MacLeod accounted for the home side’s goal.

Matt Jelley made 36 saves for the win while Maverick Goyer stopped 43 shots in the loss.
