CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I. F.C. girls finished sixth and the boys ninth at the recent Toyota National Soccer Champions Under-17 Cup held recently in Charlottetown and Cornwall.
The girls went 2-3 in the championship, defeating New Brunswick 2-0 and Newfoundland and Labrador 2-0. In the placing game for fifth place, lost 3-1 to Calgary Foothills from Alberta.
F.C. boys recorded one win during the week, a 5-1 victory over Moncton Codiac in the placing game for ninth.
The boys' gold medal was won by Calgary Foothills, while Ottawa TFC Academy won the girls' championship.
At the under-15 championship in Edmonton, Alta., the P.E.I. F.C. boys finished eighth, while the girls were ninth.
