P.E.I. lacrosse coaches named for 2021 Canada Games

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Prince Edward Island has announced its coaching staff as box lacrosse returns to the Canada Games.

The sport will be part of Games in the Niagara Region of Ontario in August 2021. It was last part of the multi-sport event in 1985 in Saint John, N.B.

Mitch Sanderson will be the head coach of the boys’ team. His assistants will be Ethan Malcolm, Cruzer Meuse and Brad Bissett with Bissett also handing the manager’s role.

Samantha Branstrom will lead the girls’ squad with Heather Simpson and Rob Redmond being the assistant coaches.

The team will be holding tryouts for the team in the near future. Dates will be posted at www.lacrossepei.ca. Players must be born in either 2005 or 2006. P.E.I. is also allowed three overage players, who were born in 2004. For more information email [email protected].
