CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Lindsey Donovan scored the overtime winner as the St. FX X-Women defeated the UPEI Panthers 4-3 Sunday in Atlantic University Sport hockey.
The X-Women built a 3-0 lead midway through the second period, but Kaylee Dufresne got the Panthers on the board with 5:04 left in the middle stanza. Taylor Gillis cut the deficit to one with a power-play goal with 9:14 remaining in the game and Maria Clinton tied it with five seconds on the clock.
Kristen MacIntyre, Katelynn Nice, Sophie Vandale and Clinton had assists for the host Panthers.
Lacey Dimaulo, Donovan and Lea MacLeod scored for the visitors in regulation.
Jamie Johnson made 29 saves for the win while Camille Scherger stopped 26 shots for the Panthers.
UPEI was 1-for-6 on the power play while St. FX was 0-for-3. The X-Women improved to 7-4-1 while the Panthers are 9-2-1.
