TIGNISH, P.E.I. — The Tignish Aces have an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League final Friday.
The Aces will take a 2-0 lead over the North River Flames in the best-of-seven series into Game 3 at the Tignish Credit Union Arena at 8 p.m.
The first-place Aces opened the series with a 9-4 road win on Saturday and won Game 2 5-4 on home ice Wednesday night.
Five different players – Jacob Hogan, Will Tuplin, Brayden Handrahan, Nick VanderVelden and Brandon Forsythe – scored for the Aces. Tyson Beckingham, Lexin Gaudet and Brayden Arsenault all added a pair of assists.
Connor Andrews (1-2), Daniel Godfrey (1-1), Alex McCarron and Blake Gallant replied for the Flames. Alex Young was credited with two assists.
McGuire Gallant earned the goaltending win over Ryan Clory. Overall, Tignish outshot North River 9-25.
