Moncton Magic defeats Island Storm on Islander Day matinee

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The first-place Moncton Magic did its damage in the middle portion of the game en route to a 109-93 victory over the Island Storm Monday in National Basketball League of Canada action at the Eastlink Centre.
The home squad led 29-26 after the first quarter but trailed 57-46 at the half and 93-67 going to the fourth.
Former Storm forward Wayne McCullough had 24 points to pace the Magic while Jeremiah Mordi had 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists while Marcus Lewis had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Robbie Robinson had a game-high 30 points for the Storm while Antwon Lillard had 23 points and nine rebounds and Alex Campbell had 13 points.
The Magic, which hit 52 per cent (17-for-33) of its three-point attempts, improved to 14-4 while the Storm dropped to 6-12.
The Storm heads to St. John’s, N.L., to play the Edge Saturday and Sunday.
