BEDFORD, N.S. — It was a day of mixed results for Prince Edward Island teams at the Chronicle Herald East Coast Ice Jam hockey tournament on Wednesday.

The Halifax Macs scored four third-period goals en route to a 7-2 win over the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild in a rematch of the 2019 Atlantic major midget hockey championship final.
P.E.I.’s other major midget team, the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights, opens against the Nova Scotia Midget AAA Selects on Thursday at 11 a.m.
In the Major Bantam Division, the O’Leary-based Prince County Warriors edged the Tri-Pen Ice 1-0 and the Central Attack of Charlottetown pulled out a 5-4 win in overtime versus the South Shore Lumberjacks. The Pownal-based Eastern Express dropped a 7-2 decision to The Novas.
The Mid-Isle Matrix, P.E.I.’s other major bantam team that is based out of Crapaud, plays their first game against Tri-Pen on Thursday at 1:15 p.m.

Macs 7 Wild 2
The Macs held period leads of 1-0 and 3-1 before putting the game out of reach in the third period with two goals 33 seconds apart to open up a 5-1 advantage.
Reid Vos and Duncan Picketts scored power-play goals for the Wild.
Josh Smith tended goal for Kensington, which plays the Cole Harbour Wolfpack on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. This game was originally scheduled for 9 p.m., but has been changed to accommodate a schedule change.

Warriors 1 Ice 0
Matt Hackett’s power-play goal early in the second period was all the offence Warriors goaltender George Gallant would require.
Carter Arsenault and Patrick Shea assisted on the game-winning goal.
The Warriors are back on the ice against the Cole Harbour Storm on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Attack 5 Lumberjacks 4 (OT)
Will White scored the winning goal with 2:35 left in overtime.
Cam Squires (1-2), Brett Arsenault (1-2) and Brennan Murphy (1-1) also scored for the Attack.
Central led 1-0 after the first period and the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of two.
Winning goaltender was Ethan Clark.

The Novas 7 Express 2
The Express trailed 2-0 after the opening period and 4-2 at the end of two.
James Wood and Owen MacPherson scored for the Express.
Tanton Wooldridge tended goal for Eastern.
The Express plays the Bedford Barons on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
