CRAPAUD, P.E.I. — The Robin’s Mid-Isle Matrix has booked a ticket in the Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League final.
The regular season champs defeated the Kings County Kings 5-1 Sunday to complete the sweep in the best-of-five semifinal.
Lucas Buch scored twice in the win while Reese Wyand had the winner and an assist as the Matrix built 2-0 and 4-0 period leads. Carson MacKay and Angus Beaton also had a goal and an assist in the clinching game.
Colin Goodwin had two helpers while Luke Payne, Joe MacEachern and Aaron McCloskey each chipped in one.
Taylor Maguire from Aidan Banks and Jack MacKenzie accounted for the Kings’ goal.
Ty Arsenault earned the win while Landon Patton took the loss.
Mid-Isle went 2-for-10 on the power play while Kings County was 1-for-4.
The Matrix will play the winners of the Western-Central semifinal in the best-of-five championship series. Central leads 2-1 with Game 4 going Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. at Cody Banks Arena.
