ALBERTON, P.E.I. — The Robin’s Mid-Isle Matrix moved into a first-place tie with the Western Regals with a 4-1 win over the Regals Saturday in Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League action.

Carson MacKay’s shorthanded goal was the winner for the Attack at the Jacques Cartier Arena in Alberton. Reese Wyand, Landon Hardy and Spencer Toole also scored in the victory. Will Mix, Angus Beaton, Lucas Buch, Matthew Mills and MacKay each chipped in an assist.

Kalim DesRoches from Chandler DesRoches and Kennedy Gallant replied with the Regals goal on the power play.

Noah Visser earned the win while Nylan Hustler took the loss.

After a scoreless first period, the Matrix took a 3-0 lead to the third. The teams combined for 98 minutes in penalties. Western went 1-for-4 on the power play while Mid-Isle was 0-for-3.

The Matrix (6-2-2) has two games in hand on the Regals (6-4-2).
