BATHURST, N.B. — The Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights snapped a 10-game losing streak in the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League in thrilling fashion Sunday afternoon.
Cameron MacLean scored with one second remaining in regulation time to lift the Knights to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory on the road against the Northern Moose at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst, N.B.
Colby Huggan drew the lone assist on MacLean’s goal, which gave the Knights their first league win since a 4-3 decision over the Valley Wildcats in an interlocking game with the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League on Oct. 27.
The Moose led 2-1 after the first and second periods, but Caleb MacDonald’s goal 5:53 into the final frame pulled the Knights even. Jesse Blanchard had a goal and an assist for the Knights, who improved to 6-14-3 (won-lost-overtime losses). Other helpers went to Nick Reeves and Marshall Gallant.
William Schofield and Cole Augustine countered for the Moose (10-12-2).
Winning goaltender Jack Howatt blocked 27 of 29 shots. Pierre-Vincent Guignard made 31 saves on 34 shots for the Moose.

Host Kensington
The Knights’ next game is Tuesday against provincial rival Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild (14-7-2). The New Year’s Eve contest will have a start time of noon at MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus.
This is a rematch of an exciting Boxing Day game between the two teams, which the Wild won 4-3 in overtime.
