CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Kalie MacKinnon and Jayden McMullen are the Holland College Hurricanes athletes of the week.
MacKinnon and the women’s volleyball Hurricanes continued their perfect season with two weekend victories They lead the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) with a 16-0 record and two games remaining.
MacKinnon recorded a combined 37 assists, 12 digs, six aces and one kill as the ’Canes swept the Sainte Anne Dragons. The third-year setter from Charlottetown is in the human resource management program.
McMullen, a first-year Hurricanes guard from Bedford, N.S., helped first-place Holland College earn two victories on home court to improve their record to 12-3.
In Friday’s 84-75 win over the Crandall Chargers, McMullen had 24 points, four rebounds and three steals before adding 23 points, two rebounds and two steals in a 98-79 victory on Sunday against the Mount Allison Mounties.
McMullen is in the sport and leisure management program.
