CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Connor Andrews scored the winner with 2:14 remaining as the North River Flames defeated the Sherwood Metros 4-2 Monday in Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action.

Zac MacKay had a goal and two assists to pace the Flames attack at Cody Banks Arena while Andrews and Daniel Godfrey each had a goal and an assist. Chandler Laporte also scored while Alex Young and Tanner Hood each chipped in a helper.

Marc Cummiskey and Matt McAulay replied with goals for the host Metros while Sammy Docherty had the lone assist.

Jean-Luc Duguay turned aside 31 shots for the victory while Sumner Docherty made 46 saves in the loss.

The game was 0-0 after the first period and 1-1 heading to the third. North River was 1-for-3 on the power play while Sherwood went 0-for-2.

The second-place Flames improved to 5-1-0 while the third-place Metros (2-4-0) are six points back.
