NEW DOMINION, P.E.I. — New Dominion’s Lauren Lenentine and her Team Canada teammates will play for a spot in Saturday’s final of the world women’s junior curling championship Friday in Russia.
Canada lost their opening game at the 10-team championship and then rolled off seven straight victories before losing to Korea on Thursday to wrap up the preliminary round. Canada (7-2) finished second and will play the host Russians (6-3), who finished third, Friday at 8 a.m. Atlantic. Top-ranked Korea (9-0) plays Japan (5-4) in the other semifinal.
The Manitoba squad includes skip Mackenzie Zacharias, third Karlee Burgess, second Emily Zacharias, vice-skip Lenentine, who throws lead rocks and alternate Rachel Erickson.
