CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown Islanders defenceman Lukas Cormier is ranked 32nd among North American skaters for the 2020 NHL draft.
Days Corner native Charlie DesRoches, a defenceman who plays for the Saint John Sea Dogs, was ranked 179th in central scouting’s final listing that was released Wednesday afternoon.
Rimouski Oceanic forward Alexis Lafreniere is the No. 1-ranked North American skater followed by Sudbury Wolves forward Quinton Byfield and Erie Otters defenceman Jamie Drysdale. German Tim Stuetzle is the top international skater.

Cormier was seventh among Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) prospects.
The 18-year-old Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, N.B., native had 36 points, including six goals, in 44 games this season. He missed 19 games with a foot injury sustained while blocking a shot Oct. 19 in Saint John, N.B.
The fourth overall pick in the 2018 QMJHL draft had 36 points, including 15 goals, in his 63-game rookie season in 2018-19.
Cormier was ranked 27th among North American skaters in the midterm rankings released in January.
DesRoches, a second-round pick of Saint John in 2018, had 34 points, including five goals, in 64 games this season. DesRoches, who turns 18 on April 24, had 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in his 59-game rookie season.
The NHL draft, which was originally set to take place June 26-27 in Montreal, has been postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19 strain). A new time and format has been announced.
