CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Cornwall blue-liner Jordan Spence and Charlottetown Islanders defenceman Lukas Cormier have been invited to Hockey Canada’s junior team selection camp.
The roster, consisting of five goalies, 15 defencemen and 26 forwards, was released Thursday. The camp will take place Nov. 16-Dec. 13 in Red Deer, Alta.
The camp will include practices and three intrasquad games, as well as six games against a team of U Sports all-stars, between Nov. 28 and Dec. 13. The tournament is scheduled to take place Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Edmonton.
Spence, 19, has four assists in five games this season with the Moncton Wildcats. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2019.
Cormier, an 18-year-old Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, N.B., native, has three goals and eight assists for 11 points in seven games this season. He was drafted in the third round by the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights earlier this year.
Islanders' athletic therapist Kevin Elliott is part of the Team Canada staff for the tournament.
