CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Chris Huggan’s tenure as director of athletics and recreation at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) ended this week.
Nicole Phillips, director of communications and university relations, confirmed the news to The Guardian on Thursday morning. She said UPEI is unable to comment any further due to privacy and confidentiality reasons.
Phillips said the university will be determining a search process for the position in the near future.
Efforts to reach Huggan by deadline were unsuccessful.
Huggan was named UPEI’s director of athletics and recreation on Oct. 22, 2014. His job description at that time included overseeing varsity and club teams, along with intramurals and fitness programming and management of athletic facilities.
Prior to joining UPEI, Huggan taught physical education and managed the athletics department at Colonel Gray High School.
