SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Hes Marvalous will have the coveted rail for the 52nd edition of the Governor’s Plate.
Prince County’s most prestigious standardbred race, which is presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge, will feature a $25,000 purse and will take place at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Saturday night.
The draw took place during Tuesday evening’s harness racing card in Summerside.

The top four-four finishers in Sunday afternoon’s two $5,000 eliminations qualified for the Governor’s Plate final.
Hes Marvalous, owned by Jackie Heffernan of Glace Bay, N.S., finished third in the second elimination, which was won by 2019 Governor’s Plate-champion Rose Run Quest in 1:54.2. Myles Heffernan Sr. drives the seven-year-old bay gelding and Myles Heffernan Jr. handles the training.
Rose Run Quest will leave from Post 2 and two horses owned by longtime owner Walter Simmons of Travellers Rest will also leave from the inside. Mantario drew Post 3 and Bugsy Maguire has Post 4.
Screen Test has Post 5 and Time To Dance will leave from the six-hole. Simple Kinda Man has Post 7 and Avatar J, the winner of the first elimination in 1:53 flat, will leave from the far outside – Post 8.
