NEW GLASGOW, P.E.I. — Two Prince Edward Islanders earned assists for their respective teams in Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) play Thursday night.

Third-year forward Evan Gallant of Abram-Village picked up two helpers in helping the Pictou County Crushers to a 4-0 victory over the visiting South Shore Lumberjacks.

Gallant, who was recently named an assistant captain of the Crushers, has four points, including one goal, in six regular-season games.

Fredericton Red Wings forward and assistant captain Declan MacEachern of Charlottetown collected a single assist in a 7-2 home-ice loss to the Edmundston Blizzard.

MacEachern is averaging a point a game in his second season with the Red Wings. He has two goals and four assists for six points in six games.
