Figure skaters from across P..E.I. competing in STARSkate championships Saturday in Kensington

KENSINGTON, P.E.I. —

The Kensington and Area Figure Skating Club is hosting the Prince Edward Island Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) STARSkate championships on Saturday.

The first group of competitors – STAR 1 – will hit the ice at Credit Union Centre at 9 a.m. Skating will continue throughout the day, with the final event – STAR 4 – scheduled for 6:10 p.m.

This year’s event, which attracts skaters from across the province, will look different this year as less family members and friends will be able to watch the skaters due to COVID-19.

The storm date is Sunday.

Following is the schedule:

Charlottetown, Sherwood, Summerside skaters

STAR 1

9-:30 a.m. – Group 1.

9:30-9:50 a.m. – Group 2.

9:50-10:25 a.m. – Cohort change and flood.

STAR2

10:25-10:55 a.m. – Group 1.

10:55-11:25 a.m. – Group 2.

11:25-noon – Cohort change and flood.

STAR 3

Noon-12:35 p.m. – Group 1.

STAR 4

12:35-1:05 p.m. – Group 1.

1:05-1:40 p.m. – Cohort change and flood.

1:40-2 p.m. – Group 1.

2-2:17 p.m. – Group 2.
