POWNAL, P.E.I. — Jackson MacDonald earned the shutout as the Eastern Express topped the Prince County Warriors 5-0 in the opening game of the best-of-five semifinal series in the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League on Sunday.
Caleb MacDonald and Harry Clements each had two goals and an assist to lead the host Express at the Pownal Sports Centre. Ross Campbell added a goal and a helper while Mason Power and Owen MacPherson contributed two assists.
Eastern built period advantages of 2-0 and 4-0.
Cole Echlin tended goal for the Warriors, who will host Game 2 at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
