CORNWALL, P.E.I. — Emma Dyer’s two-goal performance sparked the Western Wind to a 5-2 victory over the Mid-Isle Wildcats in a P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League game at APM Centre on Wednesday night.
Hilarie Gaudet, Josee Gallant and Chloe Gallant also scored for the league-leading Wildcats, who improved to 6-1-1 (won-lost-tied). Bailey Jones, Kylie Campbell and Lauren Clark all chipped in with a pair of assists.
Shaelynn McCardle and Jessica Larsen countered for the Wildcats (2-4-1).
Western held period leads of 2-1 and 4-1.
Brianna Mathews earned the goaltending win while Briann Toombs was between the pipes for Mid-Isle.
