TIGNISH, P.E.I. — The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces scored five times in the third period to blow out the Georgetown Tri County Insulfoam IceDogs 10-1 Friday at the Credit Union Arena in Tignish.

James Doyle had a hat trick to lead the Aces while Brayden Handrahan (2-1) and Tyson Beckingham (1-2) also had three-point nights in Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League action. Oliver Smallman had two goals while Jacob Hogan and Kane Arsenault each had a goal and an assist.

Tristan Cahill and Will Tuplin each had two assists in the win while singles went to Devon Sherren, Lexin Gaudet, Brayden Arsenault and Nathan Paynter.

Hayden Somers from Colton Morris and Isaiah Mahar had the IceDogs goal.

McGuire Gallant stopped 17 shots for the victory while Brandon Barrett stopped 29 of 34 shots in 36 minutes for the IceDogs and Caleb Creed stopped 16 of 21 shots in 24 minutes of relief.

The Aces held 2-0 and 5-0 period leads. Tignish went 1-for-2 on the power play and killed the IceDogs lone chance with the man advantage.
The Aces improved to a league-leading 9-1-1 while the IceDogs (1-6-0) are in the basement of the five-team circuit.
