SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — It’s the biggest regular-season game of the season for the Summerside Cooke Insurance Varsity Clippers on Friday.
The Clippers will host the Cornwall Timberwolves at Eric Johnston Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
The Clippers, who enter the game with a record of 3-1 (won-lost), are in second place in the Papa John’s P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League and are chasing the league-leading and undefeated Timberwolves (4-0).
The Timberwolves defeated the Clippers 22-14 in Cornwall in Week 2. Summerside will need a win to have a chance at first place and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Also, on Friday the Summerside Waterwise Bantam Spartans (2-2) will host Cornwall (0-4) in a P.E.I. Bantam Tackle Football League contest at 6 p.m.
Saturday, the Cox & Palmer Atom Spartans will host Cornwall as well at Eric Johnston Field in a 10 a.m. start.
