CAMPBELLTON, N.B. — Two Charlottetown natives and linemates teamed up to lift the Miramichi Timberwolves to victory in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) on Friday night.
Connor McGregor, who was assisted by Kennedy Gallant, scored with one second remaining in the second period to break a 2-2 tie. The goal stood up as the game-winner as the Timberwolves went on to defeat the host Campbellton Tigers 3-2.
McGregor and Gallant are both products of the Charlottetown Pride (now Knights) major under-18 program.
Adam Bowness, who has family connections to the Kensington area, scored for the Tigers and was named the game’s second star.
In 11 regular-season games, McGregor has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points. Gallant has 13 points, including four goals, in 11 matches.
Bowness has six points, including three goals, in 11 contests in his sophomore season with the Tigers.
