MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — Simon Hughes had three goals and an assist to pace the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights to a 5-3 victory over the Fredericton Caps Sunday at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Three Rivers.

Will Smith and Nick Reeves also scored in the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League win. Landon MacDonald and Colby Huggan each had three assists while Kal White and Nolan Stewart each had one.

Andrew Gweon and Matthew McHatten had a goal and an assist for Fredericton while Malcolm Burns also scored.

Aiden Williams made 36 saves for the victory while Blake Green stopped 45 shots in the loss.

Charlottetown, which held 2-0 and 3-0 period leads, went 5-for-12 on the power play and killed five of Fredericton’s six chances with the man advantage.

The Knights improved to 12-20-6 while the Caps drop to 18-18-2. The two teams complete the regular season Thursday with a 7:45 p.m. game in Fredericton, N.B.
