CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Charlottetown Islanders have cracked the Kia Canadian Hockey League’s top-10 rankings for the first time this season.
The Islanders, who are off to a 5-0-2 (won-lost-overtime losses) start, were ranked seventh in the latest rankings released Thursday.
The undefeated Oshawa Generals (7-0-0) of the Ontario Hockey League are ranked No. 1.
The Islanders, coming off a 3-1 road win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday, begin a busy Thanksgiving weekend at home on Friday as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (5-2-1) visit Eastlink Centre for a 7:30 p.m. start. Saturday, the Titan (0-6-1) is in Charlottetown for a contest at 7 p.m., and the Halifax Mooseheads (3-4-0) provide the opposition for a holiday Monday matinee at 3 p.m.
