Charlottetown drops 4-1 decision to Fredericton in major midget action

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Joshua Nadeau had two goals and an assist to lead the Fredericton Caps to a 4-1 win over the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights Friday in New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League action.

Andrew Gweon added a goal and two helpers for the visitors while Zachary Graham rounded out the scoring. Jeremie Thibodeau added two assists.

Knights captain Max Chisholm scored 13 minutes into the third period. Colby Huggan and Landon MacDonald had the assists.

Blake Green stopped 25 shots for the win while Aiden William was peppered with 43 shots in the Knights’ crease.

The game was scoreless after the first period while the visitors took a 2-0 lead to the third period. Fredericton was 2-for-5 on the power play and killed both of the Knights’ chances with the man advantage.

The Caps improved to 10-10-0 while the Knights are 5-10-2. Charlottetown hosts its provincial rival, the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild (10-5-2) tonight at 7 p.m. at MacLauchlan Arena.
