Brett Gallant scores first
goal of 019-20 AHL season
SUMMERSIDE – Summerside native Brett Gallant scored his first goal of the 2019-20 American Hockey League regular season on Saturday.
Gallant’s tally at 4:03 of the second period lifted the Cleveland Monsters into a 1-1 tie with Rockford IceHogs.
Cleveland would go on to win the game 3-2 in regulation time.
Arsenault makes 54
saves for Valley Wildcats
SUMMERSIDE – Valley Wildcats’ rookie goaltender Chad Arsenault turned in a stellar performance in the Maritime Junior Hockey League on Friday night.
The St. Rafael native stopped 54 of 58 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Yarmouth Mariners.
Arsenault, who played the last two years with the Kensington Wild major midget program, is 4-11-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) with the Wildcats. His goals-against average is 3.98 and he has a save percentage of .895.
