Former Cape Breton Screaming Eagles star Pierre-Luc Dubois is on his way to the Winnipeg Jets.
The Columbus Blue Jackets sent the 22-year-old centre to the Jets for winger Patrik Laine and centre Jack Roslovic on Saturday. The Jets also receive a 2022 third-round pick from the Blue Jackets.
Dubois recently requested a trade out of Columbus and was benched by Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella during Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was the third overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft and had 49 points in 70 games last season. His career best was 61 points in 2018-19. Dubois played 126 games for Cape Breton between 2014 and 2017 before being dealt to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada for the second half of his final QMJHL season.

Laine, 22, went one pick ahead of Dubois in the 2016 NHL draft and had a career high 44 goals in 2017-18. Roslovic, 23, was the Jets' first-round pick (25th overall) in 2015 and his best NHL season was last year when he had 29 points in 71 games.
