CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Three unanswered third-period goals sent the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights to a 5-2 victory over the Saint John Vitos in a New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League game on Saturday night.
Simon Hughes scored two goals and added an assist, Colby Huggan collected four helpers, Cameron MacLean had three assists and Jack Howatt made 38 saves to lead the Knights, who took a 10-17-5 (won-lost-overtime losses) record into Sunday’s road game against the Moncton Flyers (30-2-1).
Landon MacDonald, Gabe Hartlen and Will Morrison also scored for Charlottetown, which led 2-1 after the first period at MacLauchlan Arena.
Carter McCluskey scored both goals for the Vitos (14-20-0).
The Knights directed 42 shots at Saint John goaltender Frederic Plourde.
