KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — Blake Gallant’s three-point effort – two goals and one assist – sparked the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers’ offence in a 7-0 win over the Hynes Paving Eastern Maniacs on Friday night.

Tayler Read also scored twice in the Island Junior Hockey League game, played at Credit Union Centre in Kensington. Nick Trainor (1-1), Duncan Picketts and Colin Goodwin added single goals. Matt Lank (2), Keegan Buchanan (2), Ryan Richards, Dawson McCormack, Brett Ballum and Kalib Snow earned assists.

Rookie goaltender Jonah Arbing registered a 25-save shutout for the Vipers. Nicholas Jamieson stopped 43 of 50 shots for the Maniacs.

The teams will close out a home-and-home series at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

League action resumes Sunday as Sherwood-Parkdale (7-5-1) travel to the Evangeline Recreation Centre in Abram-Village to face Western (9-2-0) at 7 p.m.
