MONCTON, N.B. – Ryan Richards scored his third goal of the game in overtime Saturday night as the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild defeated the host Moncton Flyers 4-3 to advance to the Monctonian semifinal.
It was the Wild’s third game of the day.
Landon Clow also scored in the quarter-final. Colby MacArthur had two assists while singles went to Duncan Picketts, William Proud and Isaac Wilson.
Dominic LeBlanc had two goals while Patrick LeBlanc, a Charlottetown Islanders prospect, had the other for Moncton.
Chad Arsenault earned the win while Mathias Savoie was tagged with the loss.
The Wild plays Markham, who dedeated Cole Harbour 3-1 in the quarter-final, in the semifinal.
Kensington’s Saturday started with a 2-2 tie with the Ajax Pickering Raiders at 8:45 a.m. to give them a 2-0-1 record, good enough for a wildcard spot. The Wild won the rematch with the Raiders 5-0 at 4:15 p.m. to advance to the 8:15 quarter-final.
RNS Riverhawks will play the Dartmouth Steele Subaru in the other semifinal. They are scheduled for 8:45 and 9 a.m. with the championship game at 3 p.m.
