CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Christo Jose is on the top of the Canada's senior bodybuilding world after winning a gold medal in the lightweight class at the recent senior national bodybuilding championships in Toronto.

“I’m happily closing my season, going to eat some pizza and enjoy Christmas with my family. Still going on to high goals for next year. I’m so happy that I’m a Canadian champion now. Thank you for all the support," said Jose, a resident of Charlottetown.

He’s the first Islander to win a gold medal at the senior nationals and his seventh piece of hardware this season. The 36-year-old Thrissur, India, native, also won a bronze at the recent GNC Allmax Supershow also in Toronto and earned a Maritime championship in 2017.
