CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - It’s official: the Charlottetown Islanders have acquired forwards Cameron Askew and Derek Gentile in separate deals.
The trades were approved this morning when the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League office reopened after the New Year’s break.
The Isles traded forwards Matthew Grouchy and Gregor MacLeod to Quebec for Gentile and a third-round pick. The puck was flipped to Shawinigan for Askew, an overage forward who previously played in Moncton.
More to come.
